The abbreviation Carnival uses for this ship is LE. CARNIVAL LEGEND is one of the 8000 series of ships built by Carnival for their own use and for sister company Costa. This is the 3rd ship in the Spirit-class. This class introduced some firsts for the company including a wedding chapel and alternative restaurants. The theme of the ship is Great legends of the world.

During May 2018 drydock the ship added Blue Iguana Cantina, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, Guys Burger Joint and Red Frog Rum Bar to the Lido deck.

Completed during drydock 7/30/21-8/20/21 routine hotel maintenance and cosmetic enhancements. New red, white and blue hull design and paint scheme. Arcade relocated to Deck 3 and branded as The Warehouse (replaced the chapel and library on Deck 3). The Cove (replaced the arcade on Deck 4)

Completed during drydock 4/20/24-5/21/24:
- The lower level of the night club was replaced with oceanview cabins and an accessible cabin for guests with mobility issues.
- The pools and the WaterWorks received new flooring.
= Chef’s Table was installed
- The Cloud 9 Spa received a makeover that included new floors in the salon area of the Cloud 9 Spa.
- The men and women’s steamroom were both refurbished. Each sauna and steamroom are accessible from the respected locker room.
- The Dream Team Sports Bar has been replaced with a Heroes Tribute Bar.

There are 1062 staterooms on board, and 12 decks.

There are several dining options on board, they include:

Unicorn Cafe Buffet- 24-hour complimentary meals, pizza, and ice cream
Truffles Restaurant- 2-level dining room, 3-course menu, tasting menu, themed meals
Nouveau Steakhouse- fine dining, additional fee,
Bonsai Sushi- Japanese specialty

Some unique features to this ship are the 16 lounges on board, a 9-deck high atrium, golf program, video arcade, and very large kids space at Camp Carnival. There is also a WaterWorks Aqua Park with a twister waterslide, racing water slides, and kids pool play area. Passengers of all ages can enjoy the sports court, mini-golf course, jogging/walking track, and card room.

For nightly entertainment, the Follies Show Lounge offers Vegas-style productions; the Sing-Along Piano bar has live karaoke and other live music; The Dream Team Bar has plenty of large screen tvs to watch your favorite sports game; and Medusas Lair is the ships dance club. There is also a casino on board for adults only.

For some relaxation, guests will enjoy one of the many pools and jacuzzis and sundecks, or for adults-only there is a Serenity relaxation area. The Spa Complex offers steam rooms, sauna, whirlpools, and 10 treatment rooms, as well as a beauty salon and fitness center.

Legends European program is scheduled for 2024, and in September 2023 it will take its first ever voyage to Greenland.
