Most modern cruise ships need to be dry docked for inspection, maintenance and class surveys every five years and once they reach 15 years of age they need to be dry docked at least twice within a five-year period. Dry docks typically last up to 14 days at a cost of up to $2 million per day and involve regular maintenance including hull cleaning, exterior painting of the structure, inspection of pipes, restoration of exterior deck flooring, and installation of enhanced HVAC filter systems

Restaurants on board include Waterside, which has open seating dining and is considered the main dining room; and Lido Cafe/Churrascia which is a buffet during the day and then in the evenings turns into a brazilian-themed steakhouse. There is also Silk Restaurant which offers modern Chinese fare, Trident Grill which serves casual grilled food, and 2 specialty restaurants called Umi Uma and Prego. These 2 restaurants are complimentary for Penthouse passengers, and other passengers receive one complimentary seating per voyage.

There are 2 swimming pools, 2 outdoor jacuzzis, and 13 lounges and bars. The main show room on board is The Galaxy Lounge and it offers nightly productions. Other nightly entertainment can be found at the Avenue Saloon, Hollywood Theater/Cinema, Crystal Cove, Crystal Casino, Pulse Disco & Nightclub, Stardust Club, and Palm Court.

For children and teens, they each have a lounge area and age-appropriate activities. They can also enjoy the sports area and the pool areas. For adults, there is a Crystal Spa and Fitness Center.

Crystal spent $17 million on refurbishing Serenity in November 2013, revamping the lido deck by removing the indoor pool and Tastes kitchen, adding four living walls and updating the lido café.

It also remodeled Serenitys top four suites to move the dining areas closer to the floor-to-ceiling windows and added a den/library/media room with a queen-sized sleeper sofa and closet. The guest bathrooms got showers. Each Penthouse now features three flat-screen TVs, including a 3-D TV, plus a surround-sound audio system and iPod docking station.

During November 2018 drydock removed 58 veranda staterooms on deck 10 and replaced with 36 Seabreeze Penthouses and 2 Seabreeze Penthouse Suites.

During drydock Oct 27 to Nov 10, 2018. Verandah staterooms on deck 10 converted to 36 new Penthouses and 2 Penthouse Suites. Palm Court resigned and updated. Stardust Club was updated with new dance floor and finishes. The Lido Café converted to the Marketplace and Churrascaria.

After being shut down this ship resumed service in 2023 operated by A&K Travel Group Ltd.

During May 2023 drydock the ship had a full update of its public areas and staterooms, as well as a reduction in its passenger capacity – from the current 1,070 to just 740 guests. The new acommodations feature marble quarried from Italy, in addition to modern furnishings and fine cotton linens. Among the public areas, the spa and the gym received full revamps, while the Wimbledon courts were prepared to host both paddle tennis and pickleball.
