Most modern cruise ships need to be dry docked for inspection, maintenance and class surveys every five years and once they reach 15 years of age they need to be dry docked at least twice within a five-year period. Dry docks typically last up to 14 days at a cost of up to $2 million per day and involve regular maintenance including hull cleaning, exterior painting of the structure, inspection of pipes, restoration of exterior deck flooring, and installation of enhanced HVAC filter systems


During drydock Feb 23 to May 5 2018 a prebuilt 49-foot-long midsection housing 6 Silver Suites, 26 Veranda Suites and 2 Panorama Suites was added to the ship. Specifically 10 new Veranda were added to deck 6, 10 were added to deck 7 and 6 added to deck 8. 2 new Panorama Suites and 2 new Silver Suites were also added to deck 8. 2 new Silver Suites were added to deck 10 and 2 new Silver Suites were added to deck 11.

This is the biggest ship in the fleet, with a design similar to Silver Muse and Silver Moon. There are 270 staterooms on board, and all are suites. Each stateroom has the usual amenities as well as iPod stations, binoculars, and umbrellas, and they are completely wireless. For guests in the top-grade suites, they will also receive 2-hours worldwide satellite phone use, in-cabin dining, and dinner at the Officers table. Each room also has a junior attendant and butler. New additions to the ship are the movies on demand and interactive TV experience.

Pool Grill- fast food and drinks during the day, al fresco dining in the evenings with classic steak and seafood dishes
The Grill- gourmet dining under the stars, Black Rock Grill Experience
Silver Note- classy, dinner-only, 5 course menu and live music performances, tapas style
Spaccanapoli- outdoor, casual dinner option under the stars

For a little relaxation, guests will enjoy their time at the Spa which offers a wide array of treatments and also features a small fitness center, beauty salon, steam rooms, and saunas. There is also a heated saltwater swimming pool, sunbathing area, and tennis tables.

Nightly entertainment can be found mostly at the Venetian Lounge which offers daily and nightly performances. The Panorama Lounge, Observation Lounge, Arts Cafe, and Dolce Vita also offer some nightly musical performances and enjoyable atmospheres. For a little more excitement, guests can head to the Casino for some gaming tables and slot machines.
