Most modern cruise ships need to be dry docked for inspection, maintenance and class surveys every five years and once they reach 15 years of age they need to be dry docked at least twice within a five-year period. Dry docks typically last up to 14 days at a cost of up to $2 million per day and involve regular maintenance including hull cleaning, exterior painting of the structure, inspection of pipes, restoration of exterior deck flooring, and installation of enhanced HVAC filter systems

The main dining room on board is The Britannia Restaurant and it offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 seating time options. For those cruisers in any of the Britannia cabins, the Britannia Club is more exclusive and has open seating for all meals. There are two grill restaurants, Princess Grill and Queens Grill that have open seating for their Suite guests. The Verandah Restaurant offers open seating for lunch and dinner and offers luxury options. For those who prefer something more casual, the Lido and Cafe Carintha offer a more laid-back vibe.

Live music is offered all over the ship. Although this ship does not have any of the flashy thrill rides or kid-friendly activities, there is a small kids club and teen club, but the space is booked in advance. Most activities and entertainment are meant for adults including ballroom dancing, lawn bowls, and afternoon tea. the Royal Court Theatre offers much of the main entertainment throughout the cruise, and it is 3-decks high. Also found on board is a casino, library, art gallery, cigar lounge, internet centre, fitness center, games deck, and card room. Outside there are 2 pools and 4 whirlpools. For a little relaxation, the spa offers a thalassotherapy pool, thermal suite, saunas, relaxation room, and salon in addition to some great body and facial treatments.
